Starting at the unique Samburu in the north, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara re-known for its matchless game viewing opportunities whilst combining a glorious panorama of brief African hills and the primordial splendour of endless undulating plain
Itinerary Day 1 Nairobi - Samburu Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi and drive past Mt. Kenya; Kenya’s highest mountain and cross the Equator. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Central Kenya’s agricultural hinterland. Arrive mid-afternoon and have lunch at preferred lodge (Click to view accommodation choices in the Samburu Game Reserve). Remote and rugged, this reserve provides some of the most colourful photography and unique game viewing in the Kenya. After a brief afternoon rest enjoy the tour’s first game drive. Dinner and overnight at preferred Lodge (BLD) Day 2: Samburu Spend entire day searching for game in two game drives. Optional visit to a Samburu Cultural village Day 3 Samburu - Naivasha Depart after an early breakfast from Samburu to Lake Naivasha, the only freshwater lake in the Rift Valley. The lake enjoys a colony of hippos and the rich birdlife makes it an ideal place for an optional afternoon boat ride. A visit to the Crescent Island which is completely wild and undeveloped and one the few places in Africa where you can wander on foot among herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle and giraffe. There are no predators and no fences.
Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara Depart Naivasha arriving in time for Lunch. Lunch may be served en route depending on the location and choice of accommodation. Masai Mara is Kenya’s most visited reserve and home to the “Big Five”. Witness the breathtaking views, a panorama of fertile vast rolling plains which supports a huge amount of resident plain game and their predators. Masai Mara is most famous for the annual spectacle of the wildebeest migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle leave the plains of the Serengeti and cross the Mara River in search of fresh feeding grounds. Enjoy a late afternoon game drive and relax in the evening at selected lodge (click to view accommodation choices in the Great Mara Reserve). Day 5: Masai Mara The day starts with an early morning game drive before dawn and later return for breakfast and relax for the rest of late morning at the pool. Be ready soon for a late afternoon game drive. Relax and have dinner at selected lodge After breakfast, return to Nairobi (with choices for an en-route lunch or an exotic lunch at Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi). Arrive approximately 1300hrs.
